Live Edges is a collection presented on the occasion of Art Week Tirana, curated by Luca Lo Pinto and hosted by BAZAMENT in Tirana, Albania. The exhibition reflects an approach to design where “each project emerges from observation—of a material, a process, or a challenge—transforming these conditions into opportunities for innovation.” Rather than beginning from scratch, the collection draws inspiration from the interplay of materials, processes, and constraints, producing outcomes that are both functional and expressive. The collection is a constellation of different pieces all designed for the occasion: a bench, a console table, two side tables, a coffee table, a plinth, and three mirrors, all crafted in wood. The forms are inspired by “a childhood game in which you draw with a thick marker and depending on how you move it, the lines are always parallel and the distances always the same.” Translating this playful, intuitive gesture into furniture, the pieces transform a spontaneous act of drawing into functional structures. The title of the exhibition “is an ironic hack on the so-called ‘live edge’ meaning the unfinished edge in woodworking. Taken literally, it envisions edges that come alive—animating the edges into a wavy shape almost as if the structure were a snack to chew on. The result is a series of objects that feel both lively and precise, bridging the playful and the formal, and offering a poetic reflection on materiality, gesture, and transformation.
